Methods Employed:
I create the works of art at Treasure Creations by hand using both ancient and modern techniques. To speed up the roughing out process, and for works involving the inscribing of rock, or the lacework of fine woods, a certain amount of time is spent using the latest shop tools. But the detail work as well as the finishes applied to the objects is entirely a manual process painstakingly wrought using hand tools. This is the same process used by all the best sculptors and artists today.
Selection Of Source Materials:
I am very careful to only choose legally obtained wood, stone and other raw materials. Any work of art at Treasure Creations that employ materials presently unavailable on the open market were purchased from stock that was legally collected at a time prior to any restrictions being applied.
Vision Statement:
The works of art at Treasure Creations are made according to what materials I think will best represent my idea for the piece. My only concern is with how the finished piece will look. No attempt is made to match the source material used in the object I create with the source material used in any ancient original work. In addition, no piece attempts to exactly duplicate any original. Letters or characters from the various languages seen in my art from both ancient and modern sources are used correctly; however, the rendering is subject to artistic license. In this way, you receive a truly original piece of art.
Purchasing Art:
One of a kind art pieces have my name, the piece name and/or the accession number burned onto or inscribed and inked onto them in an inconspicuous area, usually the bottom or the back near the bottom. This guarantees your piece is an original from my studio. I do the woodburning/inscribing personally. Any piece which has been sold will not be duplicated. However, if you want a piece in the same series as another piece, that can be arranged.
